SEBI

SEBI's Primary Market Advisory Committee discussed a significant loosening of SME IPO eligibility, ahead of a formal consultation paper. The proposals floated Wednesday would raise the market-value ceiling for SME-platform listings to ₹4,000 crore (from the de facto ~₹500 crore norm today), lift the minimum paid-up capital threshold to ₹100 crore from ₹25 crore, and scrap the ₹2 lakh minimum trade size that currently limits retail access to SME stocks. Companies valued between ₹1,000 crore and ₹4,000 crore would get to choose between an SME listing and the mainboard; SEBI is expected to seek public comments once a consultation paper is issued. 5paisa
