RBI moves to make Account Aggregators interoperable and widen Consolidated Account Statements. In the Statement on Developmental and Regulatory Policies issued alongside the 7 October monetary policy review (the rate decision itself is out of scope), the RBI said customers will be able to access their financial data through any NBFC Account Aggregator (AA) of their choice rather than onboarding separately with each one that holds relevant data. It also said SEBI-registered depositories will be able to source bank-deposit information through NBFC-AAs for inclusion in depositories' Consolidated Account Statements, giving demat account holders a single statement covering both demat holdings and bank deposits; those without demat accounts keep the existing consolidated-statement route via NBFC-AAs. Both measures are targeted for implementation by 31 December 2026, with detailed instructions to follow. RBI Statement on Developmental and Regulatory Policies, 7 October 2026
