Regulatory News Wrap for Asia

Wednesday, 2026-10-28 · covering the last 24h

India

SEBI

A quiet window for SEBI — the only filings were a compliance-deadline extension for debenture trustees and an adjudication order, neither a rule change.

Exchanges (NSE/BSE)

NSE and BSE circulars stayed routine this window: surveillance-list refreshes, a handful of F&O scrip additions with the usual position-limit resets, and an annual-return filing extension — nothing in algo trading, colocation, tick sizes, circuit limits or block/bulk deal rules.

RBI, IFSCA & other

No new FEMA/FPI, settlement or payment-system rule-making from RBI as rule-maker this window. IFSCA's only circulars covered bullion-exchange clearing and cyber-security certification — nothing equities-relevant.

Rest of Asia — Developed Markets

Hong Kong: The SFC approved secondary trading of a tokenised SFC-authorised public fund on a licensed virtual-asset trading platform for the first time, putting its April framework for tokenised-product secondary markets into practice. The initial approval is limited to a tokenised money-market fund, with the SFC reviewing performance before considering any wider rollout. Press release

Japan and Singapore stayed quiet this window, and Australia and New Zealand had nothing beyond routine ASIC enforcement action.

Rest of Asia — Emerging Markets

China, Korea and Taiwan's regulators issued nothing new this window.

Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines: nothing material either.
