Market signal

Bitcoin claws back through the weekend and closes in on a golden cross it hasn't had confirmed in over a year. After Friday's jobs-driven whipsaw, bitcoin held little-changed into Saturday before climbing back above $86,500 Sunday and into Monday trade, with CoinDesk pricing it at $86,377 (up about 1.5% on the day) in early US hours — within striking distance of its late-September highs. CoinDesk's technical desk flagged the move as bitcoin's 50-day and 200-day moving averages approach a bullish crossover the market hasn't confirmed in more than a year, with traders also paring back bets on an October Fed move after Friday's soft payrolls print. Markets & flows — ETFs, stablecoins & on-chain

US spot bitcoin ETFs took in roughly $241.1m net for the week ended October 2, their third consecutive positive week, with BlackRock's IBIT leading at about $450m for the week; spot ether ETFs reversed to a $138m net weekly outflow after opening the week in the green, logging four straight outflow sessions to close it out. Policy & regulation

SEC clears the first 3x leveraged bitcoin and ether ETFs in the US. The Commission approved Cboe BZX's rule change Monday for Volatility Shares LLC to list triple-leveraged daily bitcoin and ether funds alongside leveraged gold, silver, crude and natural-gas products, pushing past the existing 2x cap on US-listed crypto leverage; the funds gain exposure through CME futures rather than holding bitcoin or ether directly, and haven't begun trading pending registration. 24/7 Wall St · FinanceFeeds

The Chatter

Nothing from the usual crypto-research desks (Arthur Hayes, Lyn Alden, Nic Carter, Galaxy's Alex Thorn, Glassnode's Week On-chain, Ecoinometrics, CryptoQuant's Ki Young Ju, Bankless, Messari, Delphi) surfaced a fresh, dated take on the weekend tape or the forming golden cross that cleared the bar this window — the on-chain crowd's most recent published calls predate the 72-hour window by weeks. Fewer items beats padding; we'll pick the thread back up tomorrow.
