Gulf

No material new items over the weekend from Saudi CMA/Tadawul, UAE SCA/DFSA/FSRA, ADX, DFM, Qatar QFMA/QSE, or Kuwait CMA/Boursa Kuwait. DFSA's Consultation Paper 173 on the DIFC funds regime remains open to 7 September with no update.

Israel

No material new items from the Israel Securities Authority or TASE. The corporate-bond-index liquidity reform's record date (10 August) passed on schedule with no new confirmation or change; the reform still takes effect 27 August.

Africa

Nigeria's SEC moves capital-market-operator registration fully online. Effective 10 August, all post-registration applications and services for existing Capital Market Operators — brokers, issuing houses, fund managers, financial advisers, registrars and others — must go through the SEC's ePortal; manual and paper processing for these services is discontinued. The rollout covers existing operators' post-registration services only; e-registration for new entrants is not yet included. SEC Nigeria circular

No material new items over the weekend from South Africa's FSCA/JSE, Kenya CMA/NSE, or Morocco AMMC. Egypt's FRA/EGX short-selling launch remains targeted for the second half of 2026 with no confirmed go-live date; an EGX executive said this week that final system testing is underway and an amended FRA decision is expected imminently, but nothing has been issued yet.
