ASIC's remade low-volume financial market licensing exemption takes effect. The ASIC Corporations (Low Volume Financial Markets) Instrument 2026/756 commenced 1 October 2026, replacing the sunsetting 2016/888 instrument and raising the transaction-value threshold that qualifies a market for the licensing exemption from $1.5 million to $2.5 million (the first change since 2016); eligible markets must still be on ASIC's register and limited to 100 completed transactions a year. No other substantive changes were made. ASIC news item
