ASX confirms its scrip-cap shareholder-vote rule is now in force. ASX Notice 1204.26.10 confirms that Listing Rule 7.3B and the related amendments to Rule 7.2 Exceptions 6 and 7 took effect from 21 October as scheduled, resolving yesterday's open question over whether the statutory process had completed. The rule tightens the threshold for scrip-funded takeover and merger consideration issued by S&P/ASX 300 entities: such deals, previously exempt from the 15% placement cap altogether, are now capped at 25% of shares on issue before a shareholder vote is triggered, closing a gap that had let large scrip-funded deals proceed without shareholder approval. Otherwise quiet: nothing new from ASIC, the RBA or Cboe Australia, and no fresh Treasury consultation touching market structure.

New Zealand

NZX says there are no upcoming rule or guidance changes on its books; the FMA and the RBNZ produced nothing new either.
