Uranium & Nuclear Energy Corner

Friday, 2026-10-23 · covering the last 24h

Upstream — mining & supply

Quiet on the mining and supply side in this window. Checked Cameco (which has only scheduled its Q3 results call for October 30, nothing operational), Kazatomprom, Orano, Paladin, Boss Energy, Deep Yellow, Bannerman, NexGen, Denison, Energy Fuels and Uranium Energy Corp's newsrooms, plus the Kazakhstan/Namibia/Niger/Canada/Australia/US supply-policy trackers — nothing both freshly dated to the last 24 hours and not already stale turned up.

Midstream — conversion, enrichment & fuel

Likewise quiet: no fresh conversion, enrichment, HALEU, deconversion or fuel-fabrication news, and no new movement on the Russian-import-ban/TENEX file, beyond what prior editions have already covered.

Nuclear energy — reactors, industry & demand

Navy picks Radiant's Kaleidos microreactor for a Janus Program prototype at Naval Weapons Station Crane, Indiana. The Department of the Navy announced it has selected Radiant Industries to design, build and deliver a prototype 1 MWe Microreactor Power Plant at the Indiana base, procured through the Army's Janus Program alongside the Defense Innovation Unit; the unit is slated for installation by September 2028, will be commercially owned and operated rather than government-owned, and the Navy says it still has safety, environmental and regulatory reviews to clear. It would be the Navy's first shore-based microreactor and Indiana's first power-producing reactor. Department of the Navy, via Militaryspot.com

The Chatter

A quiet window for the commentary circuit too: FNArena's weekly Uranium Week column (its most recent edition, October 20) was already attributed in Wednesday's edition, and a pass through Trader Ferg, The Oregon Group, Uranium Insider's public notes and Sprott's own insights turned up nothing freshly dated and freely accessible beyond arguments already credited in recent editions. Nothing new worth attributing on this pass.
