SEBI

Clearing members brought onto SEBI's common compliance-reporting platform from this week. Under PR No. 58/2026 (17 September), SEBI is extending the Samuhik Prativedan Manch — the single-window reporting mechanism launched for stock brokers in 2025 — to Clearing Members who are also brokers. Phase 1 took effect 30 September: roughly 1,066 dual-registered clearing members can now file 14 compliance reports (about 60% of their reporting load) once, for consumption by all relevant Clearing Corporations instead of separately by each. Phase 2, covering the remaining reports and assessing extension to Professional Clearing Members, is slated for 31 December. LiveLaw Biz

Custodian fee structure switches from annual to monthly today. The SEBI (Custodian) (Amendment) Regulations, 2026 — notified 3 July, in force from 1 October — replace the annual custodian fee (₹10 lakh, or 0.0005% of assets under custody) with a monthly fee of ₹85,000 (or 0.0000416% of AUC), payable within 15 days of each month's close; custodians registered before commencement move to the new cycle with a proportionate one-off adjustment. Administrative rather than market-moving, but it is SEBI's only rule change taking effect in this window. SEBI notification
