SEBI

SEBI clears NSE's corporate bond index futures; RBI sign-off still pending. NSE disclosed in an exchange filing on 1 October that SEBI has issued a no-objection certificate for the launch of futures contracts on a corporate bond index, intended to give market participants an exchange-traded tool for hedging corporate bond risk, portfolio management and price discovery, and to support market-making in the underlying cash bonds. The product cannot go live until the Reserve Bank of India also signs off, since exchange-traded interest-rate/bond derivatives require RBI clearance; NSE has not given a launch date. If implemented, this would be the first bond-index futures contract on an Indian exchange. Business Standard

No other new SEBI circulars, press releases or consultation papers this window.

Exchanges (NSE/BSE)

No material NSE or BSE circulars this window beyond routine settlement-calendar, mock-session and corporate-action notices.

RBI, IFSCA & other

No new FEMA/FPI, settlement or payment-system rule-making circulars from RBI this window — the higher FPI debt limits nominally taking effect for the October 2026–March 2027 half-year were already fixed by RBI's April 2026 circular, not a new rule. Nothing from IFSCA.

Rest of Asia — Emerging Markets

Likewise quiet for China (CSRC, SSE/SZSE, Stock Connect, PBoC), South Korea (FSC/FSS, KRX, BoK), Taiwan (FSC, TWSE/TPEx, CBC), Thailand (SEC, SET, BoT), Indonesia (OJK, IDX, BI), Malaysia (SC, Bursa, BNM) and the Philippines (SEC, PSE, BSP) — no new rule-making this window.
