SEBI
Zee and CEO Punit Goenka took SEBI's market-access bar to the Securities Appellate Tribunal, which set an urgent hearing for Wednesday, 12 August. The pair are challenging SEBI's 31 July order over alleged fraudulent diversion of funds tied to a Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad property Zee had pledged as loan security for Essel Group entities in 2018; the order bars Goenka from the securities market for 12 months (₹58 lakh penalty) and restrains Zee for two months (₹30 lakh penalty), with promoter Subhash Chandra separately barred for 12 months and fined ₹60 lakh. Counsel sought interim relief against the market-access restrictions ahead of the hearing. Business Standard

No other new material SEBI circulars, press releases or consultation papers this window.
Exchanges (NSE/BSE)
No new material NSE or BSE circulars this window beyond routine settlement-calendar, new-listing and surveillance notices; the Category I Closing Auction Session continues to run without reported operational issues since its 3 August go-live.
RBI, IFSCA & other
IFSCA directed all regulated entities in GIFT City's IFSC to keep their registrations and SEZ approvals continuously valid or face enforcement action. The circular, issued Monday, follows observations that some entities were carrying on business without a valid Certificate of Registration/licence/authorisation or without a subsisting Letter of Approval (LoA) under the SEZ Act, 2005 — LoAs run for one year pre-commencement and five years post-commencement and must be renewed at least two months before expiry. IFSCA said any lapse breaches the IFSCA Act, 2019 and SEZ Act and can draw penalties, suspension or cancellation of approvals. Business Standard
No new material RBI items this window; the comment window on RBI's draft Foreign Exchange Management (Foreign Investment) Rules, 2026 remains open until 31 August.
Rest of Asia — Developed Markets

Rest of Asia — Emerging Markets
South Korea's circuit-breaker mechanism fired again as the Korea Exchange triggered a KOSDAQ buy-side sidecar on Monday's rebound rally. The five-minute program-buying halt kicked in at 9:50am as the KOSDAQ 150 futures index surged more than 6%, with the spot index closing up nearly 7% on a bargain-hunting rebound from a nine-session slide; it was the third KOSDAQ sidecar activation in August alone, part of a year of sidecar frequency approaching levels last seen in the 2008 financial crisis. Elsewhere, a quiet window: no new circulars or structural rule changes from China (CSRC, SSE/SZSE, Stock Connect), Taiwan (FSC, TWSE/TPEx), Thailand (SEC, SET), Indonesia (OJK, IDX), Malaysia (SC, Bursa) or the Philippines (SEC, PSE) this window — the PSE broker-director term-limit litigation reported Monday remains pending with no new developments.
